before and after

Before and After. Questioning the wisdom of civilization. Here we have the forest, yet... A bigger and better grocery store would be great...
yet... I like the forest... OH, what a tricky question... Well, we HAVE plenty of forest, Don't we?

Our Economy is starting to recover...

Civilization Coming soon.

MD: Until we put in policies that are conducive to an economic recovery, we will not have an economic recovery. Out unemployment will hover
around the 9 to 10 % range for the forseeable future. I said this at the start of the recession, and so far I have been right. Sure, we will
see spurts of recovery and Obama will try to make us believe there will be a recovery because of the election, but there will be no robust
recovery needed to get this economy going.

Of Course, the obvious way to reduce unemployment is to RESET the social security retirement age to 55. Get the entire baby boom generation
OUT of the work force. Let the NEXT generation have a chance.

OR, we could use come Comic Relief...

What a blessing to have a calendar at work that reminds me when to go out and experience reality.

12 Volt Power station converts human fat into electricity

At Humboldt State University in Arcata California the Campus Center for Appropriate Technology has invented an electric power station that uses a standard exercise bicycle driving an automobile alternator.  A belt wraps around the wheel and the alternator. The electricity is stored in a standard auto battery for use later. more info at:

solar ocean water to pure water distillery

saltwater to freshwater solar powered distillery

saltwater to freshwater solar powered distillery

This design uses the power of the sun to boil water creating steam (pure h2o) then uses the steam to drive an engine that pumps ocean water into the still. The steam can be collected when it condenses and be used for drinking, watering crops or washing. The remaining salt can be sold for a profit. This machine only works during sunlight hours so it automatically cleans itself at dusk. A typical installation could be used to turn desert countries into a fertile oasis. For example: If we built one in Saudi Arabia it could flood the empty quarter radically improving the ecology of the middle east. Imagine pumping thousands of gallons of freshwater into that desert…

An alternative design could use long black pipes centered at the focal point of a mirrored “half pipe” parabolic reflector.

Dear President Obama: Let’s Build a fiber optic cable from Eureka, CA to Portland Oregon.

April 22, 2009

A construction project digging a ditch and laying cable would employ Americans. We currently have only one fiber optic cable connecting Eureka, California to the internet.

When that one gets accidentally cut, all commerce stops until it is repaired. No business using credit cards, debit cards and people just don’t carry around a lot of cash these days. When you were elected there was a lot of talk about funding infrastructure projects. All the design has been completed because the telecom companies have been talking about building this for a couple of years. They just need funding.
